Executive Director Telecommunications for the Deaf, Inc. Helping people with disabilities fully participate in all aspects of life is a priority for Verizon. Our relationship with Telecommunications for the Deaf (TDI) is just one example. "Our strategic alliance program with Verizon is a model that all other telecom companies should look up to," says Claude Stout, executive director, Telecommunications for the Deaf. "Verizon has helped TTY users in its service areas by making various services, such as 'TTY Intercept,' accessible." TTY Intercept enables users to view a message that alerts them when a dialed number is disconnected. "We not only appreciate the many opportunities that Verizon has given us to express our views on telecommunication access for deaf and hard of hearing consumers, but we also are grateful for the numerous solutions implemented over the years," observes Claude.
